What Is
Ideas Playground?
Ideas Playground is a two-day skills-discovery event where students and families can try practical activities, meet industry professionals and explore opportunities beyond the classroom.

Junior Innovate National Competition
Watch young innovators from across Malaysia present the ideas and solutions that brought them to the national finale in Sabah.

Is Ideas Playground free to attend?
Yes. General admission to Ideas Playground is free.
Registration is required for every visitor. Skill-based activities are not included in general admission and cost RM10 per activity.
Who needs to register?
Every visitor must register individually, including students, parents and accompanying adults.
What ages are the skill-based activities suitable for?
The skill-based activities are designed for primary and secondary school students.
- Morning sessions: Primary school students
- Afternoon sessions: Secondary school students
Please select the appropriate session when booking.
Must skill-based activities be booked in advance?
Yes. All skill-based activities must be booked in advance through the activity-booking link provided on the landing page.
Each session has limited capacity, so early booking is recommended.
How much does each skill-based activity cost?
Each activity costs RM10 per student.
General admission to Ideas Playground remains free.
Can students book more than one activity?
Yes. Students may book more than one activity, subject to session availability.
The fee is RM10 for each activity booked. Please ensure that the selected activity times do not overlap.
How long is each skill-based activity?
Each activity lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Students should arrive at the activity area at least 10 minutes before their session begins.
How many students can join each activity session?
Each activity session can accommodate a maximum of eight students.
Places are limited and subject to availability.
Can parents accompany their children during an activity?
Parents may accompany their children to Ideas Playground, but we do not recommend that parents enter the activity area.
Each activity station is designed to accommodate a maximum of eight participating students. Parents may wait in the designated public or waiting area while the activity is in progress.
Are walk-ins allowed?
Yes. Walk-in visitors are welcome but must register at the registration counter before entering the event.
However, places for skill-based activities are limited. Walk-in visitors may only join an activity if a session is still available. Advance booking is strongly recommended.
How do schools register?
Schools use a separate registration process.
Teachers or school representatives should register their student group through the dedicated school-registration link provided on the landing page.
Is TEDxLikasBay included in general admission?
No. TEDxLikasBay is a separate programme and is not included in general Ideas Playground admission.
Anyone wishing to attend TEDxLikasBay must complete a separate registration and obtain the required ticket.
Does Mini Boss Market require separate registration?
Yes. Mini Boss Market has a separate registration process.
Children who wish to operate a Mini Boss booth must register through the dedicated Mini Boss Market registration link.
What should students bring to their activity sessions?
Students should bring their booking confirmation or QR code and arrive at least 10 minutes before the session.
Any additional materials or clothing requirements for a specific activity will be stated during registration.
What happens if a student arrives late?
Late participants may not be allowed to enter once an activity has started because each session is limited to 30 minutes.
Admission will depend on the activity facilitator and whether the session can continue safely without disruption.
Are activity bookings transferable?
Activity bookings should be used by the registered participant.
If you need to change the participant or session, please contact the event team before the event. Changes are subject to availability.
